Some days only happen once.

You don't get a second take.

A magic moment. A first kiss.

So let's not leave it to a phone in somebody's pocket.

What you're actually keeping

When the day is over, the photographs are what's left.

The flowers wilt. The cake gets eaten. The dress goes into a box at the back of a closet. Within a week, the day you spent a year planning lives in exactly one place, and that place is the pictures somebody took of it.

The ordinary days work the same way. Your daughter at seventeen, the last autumn before she moved out. Everyone still under one roof. You will want to go back to those, and photographs are the only way anyone has ever found to do it.

So it is worth doing properly, and worth investing in. Not because a session is fun, though it usually is, but because this is the version of your life your family actually gets to keep.

"We're awkward in photos."

Nobody feels natural on command. That's a directing problem, not a you problem, and it's mine to solve rather than yours.

"They never look like us."

Over-posed, over-filtered, over-everything. You wanted your people. You got a catalog spread.

"There's never a good time."

There isn't one. There's only now, and a year from now, when everyone is a year older and you still don't have the picture.

Meet your photographer

Hi — I'm Ellyn.

I've been photographing families, graduates and weddings around Tallahassee for ten years, and I still remember exactly how it feels to be the one in front of the lens instead of behind it. Self-conscious. Unsure what to do with your hands. Hoping it'll be over soon.

So that's the part I take off your plate. I'll tell you where to stand, what to do, and when to just talk to each other and ignore me entirely. You show up as yourselves. I handle the rest, and I keep shooting through the in-between moments, because that's usually where the real picture is hiding.

How it works

Three steps. No guesswork.

Tell me about your event

A short call or a few messages. What the day is, who's coming, and what you're quietly dreading. We pick a date and a place.

We shoot somewhere that feels like you

Golden hour in your backyard, on campus, at the venue, down by the water. I direct enough that you never have to wonder what to do.

You get images worth printing

Hand-edited and delivered in about four weeks, ready to frame, to gift, and to finally get off your phone and onto a wall.

Portfolio 01

Wedding & Engagement

The whole day, the way it actually felt, not the way a shot list said it should look. From the ring to the last dance.

Portfolio 02

Graduation

Four years of work deserves better than a phone selfie by the sign. Caps, gowns, campus, and the grin you've earned.

Portfolio 03

Family

Everybody together, before everybody's taller. Newborns, seniors, front porches and the whole loud crowd of you.

A year from now you'll either have these, or you won't.

That's genuinely the whole decision. Nobody has ever regretted booking the session. Plenty of people regret the year they meant to.

Let's get it on the calendar

Book your session.

Tell me what you're planning and I'll come back with availability, pricing and a couple of location ideas. No pressure, no packages you didn't ask about.
